Entry Requirement
The candidate must have secured 40% marks in the aggregate and studied
Chemistry or Bio-chemistry (cognate subject) securing 50% marks in this subject
at the B.Sc., level and studied Biology at 10+2 or Pre-University.
Assessment
The students are assessed based on their performance in the practical lab work,
project and term end examination.
Job Prospects
Successful completion of the program brings eligibility to join Research Laboratories, Pharmaceutical Industries, Diagnostic Centers, Clinical Laboratories or enter into Ph.D program.

Introduction
Biochemistry is central to all areas of life sciences. The program aims to provide a sound understanding of every aspect of the structure and function of living things at the molecular level. Biochemistry seeks to understand the most fundamental of life’s processes at the molecular level and to utilize the knowledge for the benefit of mankind. The study of Biochemistry has provided mankind with products and processes in industry, agriculture, medical research etc.
Course Information
The course is centered around research activity and students being encouraged to take up semester break projects. “Biozyme”, a student and staff body, gives additional inputs related to the subject enabling the students to grow in knowledge. Some of the subjects covered during the course of study include Biophysical and Bio-organic Chemistry, Bio-molecules, General Physiology, Microbiology and Toxicology, Biochemical Techniques, Nutrition and Bioenergetics, Enzymology, Metabolism, Molecular Physiology and Endocrinology, Immunology, Molecular,Biology,Biochemical Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics etc.
