How many students are accommodated in one room? We have facility for triple sharing, twin sharing and single accommodation. Parents can opt between the three at the time of admission. Single accommodation also have Air Conditioner and Refrigerator facility. Will there be any ragging in the hostel? Our hostels are 100 per cent ragging-free. We deal very strictly with ragging. We provide separate hostel facilities for first year boys and girls. First year girls’ hostel is located within the campus. We conduct an orientation program for new students which help them mingle with other students. Fresher’s Day is celebrated. The event is conducted by seniors, where the freshers are introduced to seniors, seniors host lunch for them and various cultural programs are performed by seniors to welcome the juniors. This activity builds a strong bond amongst them. Do you provide hot Water for bath? Yes. Hot water for bath is available from 6:00 am to 7:30 am. What are the medical facilities available? We have an in-house clinic & doctor-on-call facility. We also have an ambulance to handle emergencies. What if students do not have money and there is an emergency? For example, for paying bills in hospital or coming to their native place for an emergency. The Chief Warden will take responsibility and do the needful in consultation with the parents of the particular student in hostel. What is the food offered in the hostel? Is it a balanced diet? Students have the option to choose from a variety of menus like vegetarian, vegetarian special, non vegetarian and Chinese. The diet, prescribed by a certified dietician, is balanced. The menu is planned keeping in mind the need for proteins, vitamins and calcium for the physical and mental development of our students. Students are not allowed to vacate the hostel in between the academic year. In doing so, hostel fees will be forfeited. However in special cases, the parent can request to adjust it to the fees, it will be considered according to the authenticity of the reason. Can students go to the residence of local guardians during weekends? First two weeks, the assigned local guardian should pick the student from the hostel, further on the local guardian has to send a letter or mail for permissions. What are the formalities to take leave from hostel for over 5 days? A long leave will be allowed only during vacation or for an emergency. Parents have to send a letter of permission. Do you have internet Facilities? Yes. The campus is Wi-Fi. Do you have stationary shops inside the hostel? Yes, we do. We monitor that the goods are sold at MRP and also look that the expired products are removed from the shop time-to-time. Do you have security officers in the hostel? Yes. We have a very good security system. How good is the cleanliness and maintenance of the hostel? We have separate staff for house-keeping and maintenance of the hostel. Do you provide safe drinking water? Yes. Safe drinking water is available in all our hostels. Do you have electricity back-up? Yes. We have power back-up facility in all our hostels. Do you have indoor and outdoor games facility? Yes. We conduct in-house competitions for various indoor and outdoor games. The winners are awarded on Hostel Day conducted every year. For boys the in time is 7 pm and for girls it is 6 pm. Students are advised to follow the timings.. Do you provide transport to the college? All our hostels are in the vicinity of the campus, however in special cases transportation is provided. Do you provide transport for them to go to the city? For a group of new students, we provide it for the first two months on weekends. Can they shift the room after the rooms are allotted? Usually it is not permitted. Under special circumstance it would be considered , subject to the availability of rooms. Do they have a common TV room? Yes. What are the food timings? What if the student misses that? Break-fast: 7 to 8 am, Lunch: 12 noon to 1 pm. Dinner: 7 to 8 pm. Students are advised to be on time. Do you allow students to come late in the night if they are working? Final year students have to get the permission from Placement Director & Principal. It is strictly not allowed for others. Are the wardens available in the hostel all the time? Yes. They are available in the hostel on all days. Parents can call at any time for any assistance. Is there a laundry facility in the hostel? The hostel students get six clothes washed and ironed every week free of cost. For extra clothes Rs 5.50 per piece will be charged from the students
