Prof V.B. Coutinho, Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon Dr. Justice Shivaraj Patil, and Dr. Joseph V.G, Salute the GCC Anthem.

The Garden City College of Law was inaugurated on 20th August 2008.
This auspicious occasion was graced by the presence of His Lordship Dr. Justice Shivaraj V Patil, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Former Member National Human Rights Commission, Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon, Former Director National Law School of India University, Bangalore and Member of National Commission on Center – State Relations, New Delhi.Dr. Joseph V.G. Chairman-Garden City Group of Institutions had the pleasure of felicitating Dr. Justice Shivaraj V Patil & Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon.
Dr. Justice Shivaraj V Patil expressed his delight to be in an institution which shows a lot of respect for teachers and is always obliged to honor them. He said that every minute he had spent on campus was enjoyable and a great experience for him.

“Putting hands on the chest reminds us that we have hearts. Good thoughts are in your hearts. You must not lose confidence in yourselves and always put God first. Garden City College is a college of knowledge and wisdom. We want graduates having competence, commitment and character. You will celebrate your success through your contributions to the society. Garden City College is successful because of an understanding and dynamic management, dedicated teachers and disciplined students. I am certain the Garden City College of Law will become a renowned college both in India and else where”, commented Dr. Justice Shivaraj V Patil. Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon gave the key note address in which he conveyed his best wishes to the newly born institution to stand for academic excellence in India and abroad.

“The tradition and dedication of the people associated with Garden City College will contribute a lot to its success. You students should be patriotic and integrate the knowledge you get to solve the world problems”, said Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon.

Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon emphasized the fact that there should be a partnership of the law courses with other fields of education.
Symbolic unveiling of the Foundation stone of Garden City College of Law  in the presence of Dr. Joseph V.G, Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon - Member, Commission on Centre-State Relations, Prof. Dr. Justice Shivaraj Patil - Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Prof G.V. Ajjappa - eminent law teacher and Prof V.B. Coutinho - Former Vice Chancellor of Gulbarga University and presently Executive Director of Garden City College of Law.

Dr. Joseph V.G said that Prof. Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon & Dr. Justice Shivaraj V Patil are two great souls of this nation and deserve to be worshiped.
“When you believe and desire to do a job, do it honestly and sincerely and your reward will surely come. You have the potential of doing everything you have entered into. There are two types of law, Fish law which is about big fish eating small fish and fishy law which is about corrupt people changing the law for their evil desires. Don’t learn any of these two laws. Learn proper law and change the picture of this country”, said the Chairman.


Dr. Joseph V.G also said that it was his goal that the law college becomes a success and of great service to this society. He wished the law college students the best in all their pursuits.
