National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit


The NSS wing of GCC engages the students in several community service activities, focusing on the upliftment of the rural population in the near vicinity of the college. This fosters a good relationship between the students and villagers, as the students get practical exposure to the challenges faced by these rural residents, giving them a scope for thought to improve the situation through their efforts.

The NSS Unit of Garden City College has been active for over two decades and has effectively contributed to the development of society as well as the holistic education of students, by conducting several events like Shramdhaan, Blood Donation Camp, Women Empowerment, Cancer Awareness and Prevention Programme, Computer Classes, Pulse Polio campaign, Walkathon, Swachh Bharat, Medical check-up camps as well as Special camps, towards general upliftment of the adopted village.

Additionally, the NSS team has undertaken the maintenance of BBMP parks and plantation drives, in the adopted villages, as well as in the nearby areas of the College.

The NSS Unit of Garden City College comprises of a strong team of over 100 student volunteers, who actively participate in all programs of the unit, with a striving effort to contribute to the overall development of society.
