Introduction

Media has a great role to play in every situation that unfolds in any nation. A responsible media is viewed as very critical to earning for any country a pedestal in the League of Nations.Journalists are a crucial spoke in the wheel of responsible media.

Journalists are a crucial spoke in the wheel of responsible media. The BA Journalism is a graduate program designed to prepare high caliber journalists for all kinds of media. This program takes the student through an overview of journalism to the concept of freedom of the press, function and modes of communication in the first year to introduction to jurisprudence, torts, rights, duties and constitutional laws in the second year. In the third year students learn journalistic skills such as reporting a speech, presenting radio news, interviewing and preparing a lay out on screen along with editing and designing. The students undergoing this program are exposed to real life situations while gaining valuable experience during their inter ship in various newspapers and publications.

Course Information

This 3 year graduate program prepares students to become complete media professionals; the emphasis is on practical training with internships in various media organizations through out the study program.

Some of the subjects covered during the course of study include Introduction to Mass Communication, Media Laws and Indian Constitution, Reporting Methods, Media Management, Introduction to Advertising and Public Relations, Editing Techniques, Basic Audio- Visual Media and Fundamentals of Journalism.
